Psychiatric examination: from theory to practice
- includes subjective part (patient) and objective (physician) description
- description of the current mental state and its psychopathology → diagnosis
- notice and compare changes over time
- Contents of psychiatric examination
- close-ended questions especially in bipolar patients lol
- Important things to pay attention to
- Essential syndromes (all belong to ICD F)
- intrapsychic hallucinations (ICD) =delusions (DSM V)
- Lack of insight: anosognosia is correlated with changes in the prefrontal cortex → treat patients asap to prevent irreversible brain changes
- highest % of suicidality is gender dysphoria (transsexuality) regardless of environment (supportive or not), anorexia also dangerous
- Psychosis= altered touch with reality (what is real? what not?)
- Example- Schizophrenia
